My name is Katie Hill.
I am messy and awkward.
I love yoga, animals, eye contact, fresh air, & sunshine kissing my skin.
I hate social media, texting, cancer, standing in lines, and being misunderstood.
That covers the important stuff.
My world view is that of a GenX, middle-class, college educated, white, midwestern woman. Freckled and fair is how I move through the world. I take responsibility for the limits of this perspective. I do not try to be anything that I am not.
I hope that people will share their own perspectives on my essays, if they are willing, to broaden the scope of everyone’s understanding. Fingers crossed. The comments are always open.
I am proud to have survived and thrived through many gnarly life experiences that fuel my writing and influence my perspective.
If you would enjoy reading my essays directly from your inbox, I would be honored if you gave me your email address. I will send you a little note every time I publish a new essay.
